The stage show The Hobbit has closed in Auckland, after only 10 shows. Poor ticket sales and reviews forced the doors to close the Auckland season only five days after opening.
It is thought that one of the causes is that the company, International Concert Attractions (ICA), is not being run correctly. Andrew Kay, Executive Producers, soldmore than 11 millions shares below market value last month Mr Kay had been a shareholder in 2000.
It is hoped that the show will still arrive in Australia in June. Originally, The Hobbit was to run in New Zealand for 18 months before coming to Australia.
