Running time: 140min Rating: 8 1/2 stars out of 10 Director: Antoine Fuque(Training day,Tears of the sun) Staring: Clive Owen, Keria Knightley
Lets just start of by saying
this movie was battle ready from the start. Mainly because the movie
consists of battles, but thats not all the movie has to delivers. The
movie has a really fine art direction and detail to it. Detail that
really gets you in to the feel that your watching a kick ass history
channel special that isn't going to bore you to death.its a very grim
and gloomy med-evil times feel. No, not the cheesy med-times feel you
get when you get when you eating a whole chicken with your bare hands,
wearing a checkered crown at med-times. The feels more of the grunt
feel of "Conan the Barbarian" and the steel slamming sword play of
"gladiator". However King Arthur is only PG-13 and doesn't not contain
as much blood shed that Conan or "gladiator" contains. Still, there is
blood , just not allot. What King Arthur does have is the knights of
the round table. The movie starts with the origin of lancelot and then goes 15 years ahead towards the last days of Arthur and his knights.
Arthur returns to
headquarters to the bishop expecting his own and the knights freedom.
Thats changes when the bishop grants them one last mission. Which
brings about deadly odds and a showdown with the barbaric axe welding Saxon army. The
Saxon army is lead by a black-hearted-Viking he-man bad guy looking
general. King Arthur is played by Clive Owen who plays a excellent
Roman solider leader. There is also a side story of how King Arthur is
a firm believer of god in a time when holy rulers abused there
religious power for the lesser good. Lancelot and the other knights are
of pagan status. Arthur knights constantly question there leader how he
can believe in a faith that has brought the death of many men. Over all
with the detail , sword-play, and a firm story , I feel King Arthur is
well worth a watch. 8 1/2 stars Who is Johnny Sacino? Iam a Horror movie reviewer i watch them over and over. Other then that I got my school life. Other then that I rock out to skull smashing death metal.
