This film’s director Brad Bird, who also directed The Iron Giant,
has again out done himself in this animated movie. As soon as the movie
starts it becomes noticeably that it is maturer in approach and tone
than most previous digitally animated movies. But children will love
its cartoon-ism that brings out the laughter. Although this movie runs
almost two hours, children could have trouble sitting through the whole
movie, but is very doubtful. Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible/Bob Pharr)
does a wonderful voice that gives Mr. Incredible the human qualities
that he needs to blend the movie completely. Holly Hunter (Helen
Parr/Elastigirl) on the other hand is very recognizable but the
character comes to life and you no long realize that it is Holly. The
Incredibles has plenty of conflict that intensifies both the characters
and their relationships with emotions that roar with confidence,
anguish, envy and warmth. Leaving you with a close family that
possesses some extraordinary abilities.
Mr. Incredible / Bob Pharr (voice of
Craig T. Nelson) and his wife Elastigirl / Helen Pharr (voice of Holly
Hunter) are superheros; or they used to be before a wave of lawsuits
forced them into a witness protection program. The government hid them
from the people that they once saved in order for the Incredible family
to lead a normal (?) life. Now they are known exclusively by their
secret identities, Bob and Helen. They live with their three children
Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack. Bob works in a cubicle for an insurance
claims adjuster and so wishes to be back to being a hero, the work he
absolutely loved. Helen on the other hand, is content on being a
homemaker and has worked to hard to build a normal life for her family
to tolerate his longing for heroism.
As Mr. Incredible is offered another
chance to be the infamous superhero, he jumps to play the role. Only
Bob or Mr. Incredible can no longer wear his outfit, so he visits Edna
Mode, a designer-to-the-superheroes, to incorporate a new outfit. She
takes it upon herself to outfit the entire Parr clan, unknowingly to
everyone. This opportunity to help others turns out to be a trap set by
an old adversary. The Incredibles family must work together to save Mr.
Incredible countless of times. A must see for the entire family!
